The idea
for "Who designs this stuff?" came on a much needed walk
as I started thinking
about the most recent alarm clock I purchased at Target. I now have at least 5 alarm
clocks scattered around my house that didn't
work for me as a morning wake up alarm. After I
got them home and tried them out, each one had a
major design flaw: can't find the tiny on/off
button; can't grasp the flat on/off button
--
especially out of a sound sleep; can't read the
time or especially the alarm time without my
glasses, reluctant to sleep with them on just so
I can see the clock; or, the alarm isn't loud enough. Each time I cry in frustration - WHO
DESIGNED THIS THING?
The latest clock, shown above, met all my
criteria except one, the alarm is so quiet, I
know with my aging hearing ability, it probably
won't wake me up out of a sound sleep. Isn't
that what an alarm clock is supposed to do?! |

I love all the
product reviews on the Web and always shop with
the helpful feedback in mind. But this is
scattered over thousands of sites.
Help create a clearing house of design
complaints so we can affect some change!
